FAQ

Here you'll find answers to the most common questions about Mini.Meet. Can't find your question? Email me at hallo@minimeet-app.de.

What is Mini.Meet?

Mini.Meet helps parents meet up at the playground – spontaneously or planned. You share that you're at a playground right now, or plan a visit for later. Your friends see both and can join.

Who is Mini.Meet for? What's the minimum age?

Mini.Meet is made for parents who want to meet up with friends at the playground or park. Use is reserved for people aged 18 and over – children don't create their own account.

Is Mini.Meet available for iPhone and Android?

Yes. Mini.Meet is available for free on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play), so your friends can join regardless of their device.

Where does Mini.Meet work?

Worldwide. Wherever OpenStreetMap has playgrounds and parks, they show up on your map – with no regional restriction. And you can start a visit at any spot (long-press the map), even where no playground is listed.

Where do the playgrounds and parks come from – and why is one sometimes missing?

All playgrounds and parks come from OpenStreetMap, a free map maintained by a large community – Mini.Meet doesn't create the places itself. If a playground is missing or something's wrong, that's down to the OpenStreetMap data. You can add or correct it there for free at openstreetmap.org; at the next data update (about twice a month) it then shows up in Mini.Meet too.

Why aren't some small parks shown?

We always show all playgrounds – even very small ones. For parks, we hide tiny areas below about 400 m² (roughly 20 × 20 m). The reason: in OpenStreetMap many small areas like traffic islands or narrow strips of green are tagged as "park". Without this filter the map would be cluttered with such small areas. Real parks are always larger than this limit and are shown.

Who can see where I am?

Only your friends. Mini.Meet has no public visibility – strangers can't see your visits. How you add friends is explained below.

Is my data safe? Where are the servers?

The servers are in Germany – no US cloud provider. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS). There's no ad tracking and no usage profiling, and your visits are visible only to confirmed friends. Only the handling of optional in-app purchases runs through the App Store or Play Store – more in the privacy policy.

How does a visit work?

You pick a playground near you and tap "Be here". Your friends then see your visit. A visit expires automatically after the duration you chose – or you can end it earlier yourself.

Can I start a visit anywhere on the map?

Yes. Just long-press the spot you want on the map – even where no playground is listed. A pin is dropped — you can still drag it to the exact spot — and you can start or plan a visit there. Great for a lakeside meadow, the bench by the café, or your own meeting spot in the park.

What does "Along" mean?

"Along" is everyone and everything with you on a visit – your children, other adults, but also things, for example the dog or a badminton set. That way your friends can see at a glance who or what is along with you.

What are planned visits?

You can plan a playground visit for later instead of dropping by right away. Planned visits show up in a different colour for your friends so they can join.

How do I add friends?

Through your personal invite link or QR code in the Friends tab. Whoever opens the link or scans the code is added as a friend directly – there's no extra confirmation. So only share the link with people you really want as friends.

Can I reset my invite link?

Yes. In the Friends tab you can generate a new invite link and QR code. The old link stops working afterwards – that way you can stop anyone from still adding themselves with an old link. Your existing friends stay as they are.

What are friend groups?

Friend groups let you sort your friends – for example "Daycare", "Family" or "Neighbours". When you share or plan a visit, you can show it to just one group instead of all friends. Groups are part of Mini.Meet Plus and are created in the Friends tab.

Why does the app need my location?

So it can show you playgrounds nearby and let you share a visit there. These core features don't work without location access. We never share your exact location publicly – only the visit location you chose is visible to your friends.

What is Mini.Meet Plus?

Mini.Meet is free. The optional Plus subscription unlocks extra features: as many "Along" entries as you like (instead of just one person), your own friend groups for targeted visits, plus detailed insights and statistics about your visits. It's managed through your App Store or Play Store account.

How do I cancel Mini.Meet Plus?

You manage the Plus subscription directly in your store account. iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Mini.Meet Plus → cancel. Android: Play Store → profile picture → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Mini.Meet Plus → cancel. Cancelling at least 24 hours before renewal prevents automatic renewal.

Will I get notifications?

Yes, for example when a friend drops by or reacts to your visit. You can mute individual friends – just open the friend in the Friends tab. Push notifications can also be turned off entirely at any time in your device settings.

How do I delete my account?

In the Profile tab under "Account" you'll find "Delete account". This permanently removes your profile and your data. A detailed guide (including deletion by email) is available at Delete account.
